A ground floor detached home, 140 sq m in area, within a 1.300 sq m plot of land, has been designed and is under construction by the K projects company, to meet the needs of a five member family. Emphasis was given during the designing stage to the bedrooms for the three children so as to provide spacious and functional rooms in spite of the restricted area of the home. Therefore four bedrooms were created, a single living room and dining room area, a kitchen, a bathroom and of course, a storeroom.
The pergola and all the bulk parts of the building will be painted white to highlight the size of the house together with the earth tones of the home.
For the construction, trade name materials were preferred from Greek suppliers and also from international suppliers and emphasis was given to energy saving methods since in-floor heating systems will be used, in accordance with German technical specifications, double exterior heat insulation & open and close door and window frames with double glass panes.
The southeastern orientation of the house allows for the creation of large openings but also for controlled shade during the warmer hours of the day with the planting of suitable trees and ample light on the northern side of the house.
